History of Lantzville Fire Rescue
|
Pictured on the Right are the two antique fire Trucks owned by Lantzville
Fire Rescue. These two vehicles proudly represent Lantzville Fire Rescue
in Parades and Community Events.
|

|
The Truck on the left was the District of Lantzville’s first fire truck a
1956 Thibault. The pumper was built at the Thibault fire truck plant in Pierreville,
Quebec and driven out to Lantzville in 1956, where it remained in service
until 2000. Although the truck is not restored at this time, there are plans
to do so in the future.
|
|
The Truck on the Right a 1935 Seagrave was originally owned by the Alameda
Fire Department (California) Lantzville Fire Rescue found the derelict pumper
in Hyder Alaska in 1979 and brought it back to the community. With the hard
work and dedication of Lantzville volunteers, the truck was restored over
a ten-year period with the assistance of Blackstaff Restorations in Ladysmith.
The Pumper preserves the history of the Fire Service in North America. |
